Inspired!
Inspiration typically flies in on the wings of hope… Infused in the many realms of possibility. Whether we choose to be open, or prefer the perceived safety of being locked up tight… Inspiration lies in wait… Ready to pounce when we least expect it.
Inspiration follows no rules… certainly none we are ready to recognize. At times we are inspired by people, places, things, events that seem unrelated to what we become inspired to do.
Today, in Tarifa, a city in the south of Spain, I was inspired by a walk on the beach and an impromptu photo shoot with the 100 or so kite surfers, illustrating the sky with their man-made wings. I was inspired to reach for new heights, to dig back into past desires and endeavors, and to break through my own locks and chains, built to protect myself from the consequences of risk.
This morning, at 9 am in Tarifa, Spain… I was inspired again. This time by a hardworking Nigerian man, relocated to Spain, through a tumultuous journey to achieve a better life in Europe he’s not so sure he has found in the end. He says that thousands have died trying to take the same journey toward the potential of greener grass. Again, I am inspired.
I will post his story soon. Until then…
